CMS cuts reimbursement RVUs!

RVUs for Holter Monitoring Reimbursement have been reduced by more than 50%

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) published its Final Rule, in 2006, addressing the relative value units (RVUs) for the Physician Fee Schedule (PFS). Effective January 1, 2007, the RVUs for Holter Monitoring were reduced by over 13% compared to 2006, and reduced even further by more than 50% by 2010. Click here to view the excerpt from the Final Rule.

Many physicians and their staff may not be aware of the significant adverse impact on cardiac monitoring services since the document containing the Final Rule is more than 1,400 pages.

These cuts suggest that providing Holter monitoring services in-house is a money-losing proposition.

ECG Scanning has solutions that can allow physicians to continue providing timely and accurate cardiac monitoring services to patients, in a manner they have been accustomed to.

ECG Scanning is the leading Holter Monitoring service provider and has been providing the highest quality service for more than 20 years. Please call (888) 346-5837, Ext. 1528 to receive more information.
